ABOUT US

The leaders, cub scouts and all the families and friends of Pack16 welcome you to our website. We are part of the international brotherhood of Scouting which includes 17 million members in over 134 countries. We are one of the Packs which comprises the Orange Mountain District which is overseen by the Northern New Jersey Council of the Boys Scouts of America. Our Pack has been in existence in the township of Livingston, New Jersey for more than fifty years. In fact, in 2004, we celebrated our 55th anniversary. We are chartered by the St. Philomena's Catholic Church of Livingston but the Pack is non-sectarian. The families which make-up our Pack come from different ethnic backgrounds and religious denominations.

CUBMASTER MINUTE FROM THE CUBMASTER

“Go not where the path leads, rather, go where there is no path and leave a trail”

____________________________________________________________________________

Fellow Scouts and Families of Pack 16,

Citizens of the Township of Livingston gathered at the Memorial Garden located at the Oval to pay respects and tribute to the seven Livingston residents that perished in the tragedies of 9-11 ten years ago. The celebration and service started promptly at 7:00 p.m. Sunday September 11, 2011. Our local Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops participated in the service as Honor Guards.

The leadership team decided to invite all of our scouts to fall into ranks and participate by observance. Mr. Del Turco, Mr. Patel and Mr. Wood were there to organize the Den for the ceremonies. Unfortunately, I was not be able attend as I was at Woodbadge Training that weekend.

Keeping in mind that Good Citizenship is one of the 10 purposes of Scouting. It is times such as this that we must live our mission and be counted. As I stated at the onset of last year's "Hugs From Home Campaign", some things are simply "Scout Like" and participating in this event is one more example.

Yours In Scouting
